Urinary Frequency

How Myofascial Release addresses it, and what to expect.

Urinary frequency refers to the need to urinate more often than what is considered typical for an individual. It is a common symptom that can be caused by various factors, ranging from temporary issues such as increased fluid intake to more serious underlying medical conditions. The frequency of urination can vary from person to person, and what may be considered normal can depend on factors such as age, overall health, and individual habits.

Why fascia is involved

A tight pelvic floor keeps the bladder on alert.

The bladder is a stretchy organ that relies on the surrounding fascia and pelvic floor to relax so it can fill comfortably. When that tissue is restricted, the bladder is compressed and its nerves are irritated, so it signals fullness long before it is actually full. Pregnancy, childbirth, surgery, sitting posture and stress can all leave the pelvic floor in this braced state.

Myofascial Release addresses frequency by restoring softness and mobility to the pelvic floor, lower abdomen, hips and lower back. As pressure on the bladder eases and the nerves settle, many people find the urge to go becomes less constant. Medical evaluation rules out infection and other causes first.
